Everyone that can donate should….
Did you know that you could save up to THREE lives with a single donation of blood? One single pint=3 lives saved.
Do it…if you can- its the right thing to do.
The requirements are minimal, please check with your local Blood Center to set up an appointment. At the very least, even if you decide to donate only once…you will at least learn your own blood type. Plus you get all the soda, juice, water, ice cream, twinkies and cupcakes you can handle afterwards!!
The helpless, little babies are counting on you…..

I mean… I came across this video clip and I swear I have watched it at least a half dozen times every day since I found it. Its a song by a female country artist that had a huge hit with it in the early 1950′s….if your ears have not yet been blessed by this voice, her name is Goldie Hill. This was an answer song written for “Don’t Let the Stars Get In Your Eyes”. I love it…..you will too!

45 Years ago today- the world lost the Greatest female singer ever-
The one, the only…Ms. Patsy Cline
…”Anything but Country”- that’s the usual answer I get when my friends and I are trying to decide on a radio station. Normally, we can’t decide….so everyone is always instructed to bring a couple of CD’s for the road trip and we’ll sit through them as we drive (everyone is allowed one “veto”). When it’s my turn…I usually yell out- “Ok, one Country song and then”…. (that’s usually as far as I get before hearing VETO! screams from everyone).
“But…It’s Patsy Cline”. Then of course the standard phrase is next… “Oh, she’s not Country… I like her”. Wait, wait…so because someone that usually hates country, likes Patsy…. that makes Patsy “not Country”? It’s always the same excuse…but they love Patsy.
Hear this once and you’ll be singing it all day…

Their show at “The Sahara” was the hottest ticket in town. Louis and Keely sang, danced and threw out a few comedic lines that had the audience in stiches. They were backed by a band lead by Sam Butera called “The Witnesses”. Aside from making hit records and playing several shows nightly (all the way through the night- until 6 a.m.!), they also made The Sahara Lounge the hottest night club around…while at the same time, making it- without a doubt, the very coolest.

Posted in Hollywood, TV with tags Jan Brady, Marcia Brady, The Brady Bunch on September 23, 2007 by phillipphilesI KNEW IT!!
Check this shit out-
Wholesome former “The Brady Bunch” star Maureen McCormick is set to reveal the beloved ’70s TV series’ most shocking secret in a new book — she and her on-screen sister had a lesbian fling.
McCormick’s tell-all, “Here’s The Story,” won’t hit bookstores until 2008, but publishers are already buzzing about the big reveal.
As well as talking candidly about her well-documented eating disorder and drug problems in the book, TV’s Marcia Brady will come clean about a romance she had with co-star Eve Plumb, who played her sister Jan on the hit show.
A source tells the National Enquirer, “The most explosive comments will be how the then-blonde, blue-eyed cutie developed a crush on Eve Plumb, which led to some sexual play.”
“This book will certainly come as a shocker. While Maureen is not a lesbian, she reveals there were some sexual hijinks going on behind the scenes.”
“It’s bizarre because she played such a virginal character on the show.”

There were alot of tributes/specials on several of today’s talk shows. I started to watch one and it was just too depressing so I changed it. What’s even more sad is that alot of the first responders that went down there and so bravely helped are now victims themselves and nobody will help them. Now their medical needs are being overlooked, simply because “they weren’t on the payroll & nobody told them to go down there“. Amazing isn’t it?

the BEST George W. Bush joke ever…this is from one of my bestest buddies- “Lois Ann” in Chattanooga!
Posted in Personal with tags George Bush joke on August 4, 2007 by phillipphilesGeorge W. Bush has a heart attack and dies. He goes to H-E-Double Hockey Sticks and the Devil is there waiting for him.
“I don’t know what to do with you” says the Devil. “You’re on my list but I have no room for you- but you definitely have to stay here…so I’ll tell you what I’m gonna do. I’ve got three people here who weren’t quite as bad as you. I’ll let one of them go but you have to take their place. I’ll even let you decide who leaves!”.
George thought that sounded pretty good, so he agreed.
The Devil opened the first door and in the room was Ted Kennedy and he was in a large pool of water. He kept resurfacing and gasping for air. Such was his fate in hell.
“NO!”, George said. “I’m not a very good swimmer and I really don’t think I could do that all day.”
The Devil leads him to the next room, in it is Tony Blair with a sledghammer and a room full of rocks. All he did was swing that hammer time after time and more rocks appeared.
“NO!” screams George, “I’ve got this problem shoulder and I’d be in constant agony if I had to break rocks all day.”
The Devil opened a third door. In it was Bill Clinton- naked, tied to the bed in a spread eagle pose. Kneeling next to him was Monica Lewinsky doing what she does best.
George looked at this with complete disbelief and he finally screams- “YEAH!, I can handle this!”
So the Devil grins and says- “OK Monica, you’re free to go now!”

I don’t even know where to start this thing!! ….still floating in the clouds. I still can’t get over the fact that I FINALLY got to see my all time favorite group-Expose’! (from the front row no less). They came into my life in 1987 A.D.(After Disco) and have been there ever since. The first time I ever saw Expose’ was on a cable show called “Dance Party U.S.A.” that was taped in Philadelphia. (anyone remember Bob Catalano?…ha!) ”Come Go With Me” was already all over the radio and that is the song they performed. Then I saw them on “Solid Gold”, then “Showtime at the Apollo”, then the “American Music Awards”…. I mean these girls were hot on the charts and on every show out there.

Videos are already on YouTube for the Palmdale concert. There is one embedded one below and links to 5 others.
Thanks to the Expose’ Epistle and tbo452 for the video links. Enjoy!
Phillip will update us on the dirt when he gets back.
(If there’s gonna be a performance video on this blog, you can bet your sweet bippy it’s gonna be “Come Go With Me”…the other links from the Palmdale, CA concert are still linked below this Youtube clip. This is the original video for the song that started all the madness, thanks for checking things out- Mario)

Posted in Personal on July 10, 2007 by phillipphilesHi. I’m Mike. My friend Phillip can write a good email. They come complete with pictures, information, links, videos and a rant like no other. When I’m done reading one, I’m usually weak and sweating.
I told him that he needed start a blog so others could enjoy those roller coaster trips. He resists.
He’s really quite interesting and I think the blog community will accept him with open and psychotic arms.
Phillip, who sometimes goes by Mario (don’t be alarmed) lives in California, is of Mexican descent, (though looks more Italian to me), he’s in his early 30s, loves to wear black and I consider him (rightly so, I think) country singer Patsy Cline’s number one fan. Phillip enjoys the eBay cult. If you see a retro bargain, please send it to him so he can ruthlessly outbid that other guy that really wants it (probably for his sick mother’s last wish or something…Phillip doesn’t care). He’s had blue hair, can make his own tortillas and breakfast burritos, he wears a size 12 shoe (you know what THAT means boys and girls!)… right… fewer choices in the shoe store. If you leave him a message on his phone, it won’t be him you hear, it will be the scream of Joan Crawford explaining how wire hangers annoy her. A call or email can easily take an odd turn… once in the middle of a conversation he mentioned that he had an argument with Dawn Wells (yes, Marianne from Gilligan’s Island)… huh? And without a beat moved to the next topic (which I believe had something to do with Sally Struthers).
I won’t give away all the secrets, instead I hope he’ll be inspired to let them unfold here. If not, I have enough dirt on him to make this blog rock!
Enjoy!
(Most of this is true…) M
That Wonderful Someone

Patsy Cline
By Mike
America’s Down Home Sweetheart
Patsy has enjoyed Nashville sound stardom since 1957′s Walkin’ After Midnight. Patsy also pioneered the country/pop crossover. Everyone loved Patsy. Everyone LOVES Patsy.
Patsy has enjoyed several posthumous comebacks over the years, but is now enjoying a legend status comeback lasting longer than her career and life. She has become popular with a new generation of fans and is inspiring a new generation of artists.
Talent gave us Patsy. Tragedy took her away. Talent brought her back to stay.
In 2001, she was voted #1 in The Greatest Women in Country Music and in 1999, she was voted #11 in The Greatest Women of Rock & Roll. That’s an inspiring achievement. Country, Rock & Roll, Pop… if someone finds a track of her playing the piano, Mozart loses HIS top spot as well.
You don’t like ‘Country’ music? Well, take a listen to Patsy and you’ve found That Wonderful Someone.
(Just so you all know… Mike said I could NOT post anything regarding my other obsession PATSY CLINE. Funny how it’s ok for HIM to write a little article on MY blog regarding a subject he told me was off limits. Maybe he’s actually the bigger Patsy fan? And he forgot to mention that she also has a Star on the World Famous Hollywood Walk of Fame.)

A Phillip blog wouldn’t work without mention of the 80s group Expose’.
If anything will egg Phillip on, it will be this. I found a link with a history of the band and I’ll bet a million dollars that he will scream at the inaccuracies. I don’t actually know if there are any, but he’ll find them.
Take a look at this Expose’ article on answers.com while singing Point of No Return. (Jesus, Mary and Joseph…is that the gayest sentence you’ve ever heard in your life? Thanks Miguel!! – Phillip)
