Happy Birthday to:”The Lovable Lush”- Mr. Foster Brooks (click here to read the entire story)
THE ONE…THE ONLY…
MR. FOSTER BROOKS!
Alright…so, this clip below is the funniest shit I have ever seen-
From the “DEAN MARTIN SHOW”
Deano and Foster… “THE AIRLINE PILOT”.
HA! “You sure you’re not a pilot!?”
Foster Brooks is one of the very few comics that can still make me laugh outloud and he did it all without using any “blue” material…
Some of my other all time faves are Jonathan Winters, Phyllis Diller and Don Rickles!
Speaking of which- here is a clip of Foster appearing on the “DEAN MARTIN CELEBRITY ROAST” for none other than DON RICKLES.
CLASSIC.
Foster actually did his routine sober. He quit drinking on a bet made in 1964-
“Fellow made me a $10 bet I couldn’t quit, and I haven’t had a drink since. At the time- I needed the $10.”
On the “STEVE ALLEN SHOW”, he was introduced as a movie producer. He then stumbled on stage- doing his drunk act and claimed to be the executive in charge of editing movies for television. His biggest success- he said, was the famous movie “The Three Commandments.” Do you love it? He got another big break when he was asked to open for crooner Perry Como.
Autograph of the “Lovable Lush”.
Foster had a very illustious career and was a huge hit in Las Vegas and on several television specials. Each and every appearance on the “DEAN MARTIN ROAST’ became an instant classic.
Foster left us in 2001…he was something else.
How cool is this FOSTER BROOKS Decanter?
