Everyone that can donate should….

Did you know that you could save up to THREE lives with a single donation of blood?  One single pint=3 lives saved.

Do it…if you can- its the right thing to do.

The requirements are minimal, please check with your local Blood Center to set up an appointment.  At the very least, even if you decide to donate only once…you will at least learn your own blood type.  Plus you get all the soda, juice, water, ice cream, twinkies and cupcakes you can handle afterwards!!

The greatest musicians in the world live in Nashville, TN.

This was filmed at one of the various “Opry Family Reunion” shows that featured several past and present stars of the Grand Ole Opry. There is an entire series of these!

It had been many years since Goldie had performed professionally when this was shot.  The song she is singing in the clip above was written by her brother Tommy Hill.  She followed this song with two duets with Justin Tubb and then married Country Music entertainer Carl Smith.  They raised 3 children and for the most part Goldie Hill had gracefully faded from the spotlight in favor of raising her family. 

She recorded breifly in the late 1960′s, however the majority of her success was during the early part of her career.  I’m so glad that she was invited to take part in one of the many Opry Reunion programs that have been taped over the past several years.  This song has become one of my favorites and this clip is a real treasure, she seems so happy to be singing again.

Sadly…Goldie was called to Hillbilly Heaven in 2005.

No other movie has affected me like this… I bought the DVD right after I watched it on the “On Demand” channel… I want everyone I know to see it.  They should just cancel the Oscar’s this year and ship all the awards to everyone involved in this movie.
